Save the Children aiding Burma-Myanmar cyclone victims

The Cyclone Nargis which struck Burma (Myanmar) on May 3 has claimed an estimated 22,000 lives, with another 41,000+ missing and 1-million or more homeless. The country’s military rulers have been reluctant to let non-governmental agencies operate inside the country, but one U.S. nonprofit that is working currently in the country is Save the Children … a special fund has been set up on their website for the cyclone victims.
Save the Children’s website mentions they have already distributed 2 metric tons of food, plastic sheeting, water purification tablets, kitchen equipment, re-hydration salts and non-food items to over 30,000 children and families whose homes have been destroyed by Cyclone Nargis.
