Global-HELP sending free health care publications worldwide

Global-HELP (Seattle, WA) is a nonprofit that provides free health-care texts for developing countries. By using a network of donors, authors, producers, health care workers and volunteers, medical publications can be made available without charge to recipients worldwide.
Scholarships are being offered to students and medical and health professionals who are interested in developing new publications. Publications are translated in over a dozen languages, and Global-HELP is always looking for translators.
Medical professionals can also contribute a new paper, brochure, book or poster, or suggesting a book for republication.
Global-HELP is also looking for any medical practitioners who have useful tips or techniques that deserve a wider audience.
Access and use of all material on the website is free in PDF files. Written materials, such as books, are available free for use in developing countries for only the cost of mailing. A CD library has also recently been developed.
Some categories of publications focus on cerebral palsy, clubfoot, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, rehabilitation, spina bifida and wounds.
One example of a program is a specialized ‘Clubfoot Guide for Uganda’ that was developed in collaboration with Dr. Shafique Pirani, M.D., who was awarded a million dollar grant thru the Canadian Government for the development of a sustainable Clubfoot Treatment Program in Uganda.
Tax deductible donation opportunities and other program information is available on their website.
