Chilean American Foundation supports children in Chile

Washington, DC-based nonprofit Chilean American Foundation (CAF) was established in 1990 to provide financial support for social projects in Chile, South America. CAF’s members are Chileans and friends of Chile who support education, healthcare, vocational training and welfare to the most disadvantaged children in Chile.

Past projects include funding for computer equipment, medical equipment, medicines, construction of kitchens, bathrooms and training facilities.

Specific projects in 2007 include:

Corporacion CreArte - - finance the purchase of musical instruments, sound equipment, tape recorders, children’s story and poetry books and artistic materials.

Fundacion Rescate - provides funding for meals for HIV children to help them finish school or on-the-job training.

Centro de Apoyo Escolar Cecilia Arrieta - providing a years worth of meals and nutritional eduction for 70 low-income children (ages 1-16).

Corporacion Municipal de Educacion, Salud y Atencion de Menores de Puente Alto - providing funds for educational materials and food for the psycho-social development of 77 children in the area of Puente Alto.
