Operation USA working worldwide for humanitarian aid

California-based charity Operation USA has worked for 27 years to provide material assistance and act as advocate for aid to those in dire need around the world. In 2005, over $18-million was provided in aid in the USA and around the world.

Assistance is now being provided to the victims of the Southern California Wildfires.

Operation USA works to provide emergency relief immediately after disasters, recovery and rebuilding as emergency needs subside, and then long term development assistance years after a disaster has occurred.

Some of the foreign aid includes:

Cuba - humanitarian aid to pediatric hospitals in Cuba.

Cambodia- supported agricultural projects, landmine technology and prosthetic clinics for amputees, and microfinance programs.

Vietnam- medical supplies, agricultural programs, microfinance, avian flu treatment.

Darfur, Sudan - provided educational supplies.

Burma / Myanmar - has been working along the Thailand - Burma border for more than 15 years providing medical aid, vitamins, and relief supplies to refugees.

Iran - supported a health care training center, worked with the physically challenged and assisted in building a women’s clinic.

Peru - funding reconstruction of schoolrooms, medical supplies, and social programs for earthquake victims.

Turkey- provided post-trauma counseling, healthcare and rebuilding of schools after 1999 earthquake.

Nicaragua- provided emergency relief after Hurricane Mitch and adopted the village of Santa Rosa as a model to assist other communities around the world.

Sri Lanka - 200,000 civilians and about 500,000 refugees from the tsunami and the 3 decade civil war have been targeted for relief aid. 15 children’s homes have received grants.
