Baptist World Aid charity provides global assistance

Baptist World Aid (BWAID) is a registered charity (Falls Church, Virginia) and the compassionate arm of the Baptist World Alliance and has been working for over 85 years to provide aid to the needy around the world, regardless of tribe, caste, color or religion. Almost $10-million per year is provided in global assistance.

BWAID uses the local Baptist infrastructure in countries around the world to administer local assistance in the areas of famine, disaster relief, refugee assistance, HIV/AIDS pandemic, development projects designed to provide sustainable living, gender equity, and fellowship assistance.

Some of BWAID’s projects include aid to:

Peru - for victims of August 15 earthquake.

Bangladesh - for flood victims.

Democratic Republic of Congo - for mandatory school fees for orphans to attend school.

Serbia - FLAME project to treat physically disabled children.

Sudan - helping widows and destitute women, including holding workshops to help women develop skills to generate sustaining income.

El Salvador & Bulgaria - medical supplies for local doctors and nurses.

Russia - assisting a local Moscow area TB sanatorium that treats or houses over 700 children each year.
