Save Africa’s Children Charity focuses on AIDS crisis

Save Africa’s Children (SAC) is a charity that has assisted over 350 orphan care and support programs in Sub Saharan Africa, reaching over 90,000 AIDS affected children. SAC was founded in 2001 by Bishop Charles E. Blake, pastor of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles, California.
Denzel Washington, Ray Romano, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, Magic Johnson, and Samuel Jackson are among the supporters of SAC.
SAC works closely with a multitude of African churches that play key roles in the AIDS crisis in Africa. Hundreds of churches all across the USA are partners with SAC. SAC has raised over $4-million in gifts from churches across America. SAC also partners with corporations and individualsĀ in targeting the AIDS crisis in Africa.
SAC’s goal is to reach 1,000 grassroots and church-based grantee partners in Africa by the end of 2007.
Some of the projects of Save Africa’s Children include:
- Education - Support for schools.
- Health - HIV/AIDS care, feeding programs, medical clinics.
- Infrastructure - construction of wells for drinking water, construction of schools and homes.
- Training - HIV/AIDS awareness, medical training.
- Community-based care: support to orphan caregivers and families, day care centers, community development.
